Sutter Roofing was chosen number 26 of the top 100 roofing contractors of the nation for 2014. Despite the challenges of slowly recovering economy and severe weather patterns the roofing industry has been able to show great strengths.

Many contractors have said that due to 2013’s long harsh weather there was a need for a lot of roof work which in turn lead the industry to a very busy 2014.

The TOP 100 Roofing contractors were determined by annual sales revenue for United States based companies. Each contractor reported its total revenue and business statictics for the past year 2013.

Sutter Roofing shows great strengths in the Florida market and only continues to grow!

Sutter Roofing Completes Dry Warehouse Expansion for Publix

Sarasota, Florida – March 15, 2012 – Sutter Roofing, one of Florida’s leading commercial and industrial subcontractors, is finishing work on Publix’s HV / LV Dry Warehouse Expansion in Lakeland. They were contracted to install a 600,000 square foot, energy-star, LEED-certified, thermoplastic Sarnafil roof.   The approximately $2.5 million roofing project was started in mid-December, and will be substantially complete by the end of March. Sutter Roofing has worked with Publix for more than 15 years, and is only one of four approved roofing contractors in the state that can perform work for the grocery chain.

“We are very pleased to have been awarded this project and providing a great roofing system to our friends at Publix,“ explains Doug Sutter, President of Sutter Roofing.  He continues, “The size of this project was massive, about 13 football fields, and the production and labor budgets are both exceeding our expectations.”

Sutter used the Sarnafil roofing system, a thermoplastic roofing membrane that temporarily changes from a solid to a semi-solid state when heated sufficiently, enabling the sheets or panels that are overlapped to be fused together and return to a solid upon cooling, forming one continuous sheet membrane. Sarnafil’s specially formulated thermoplastic membranes are also designed to withstand everyday occurrences of ponding water and other natural elements such as birds, biological organisms, pollution, wind, hail and snow. Thermoplastic roofing membranes have extended life cycles, inhibit the heat island effect and are available in energy-efficient colors.

Sarasota, Florida – July 20, 2009 – Sutter Roofing Company, one of Florida’s leading commercial and industrial subcontractors, recently finished work on several large school projects on the West Coast. The projects, at a cumulative cost of around $3.5 million, included Manatee County’s Palmetto High School additions, Southeast High School, and Sarasota County’s new Riverview High School and Elementary School I.

All of the roofs were upgraded using LEED-approved materials, including reflective “membranes” that will help extend the lives of the current roofs and reduce heating and cooling costs in the years to come.

LEED is an internationally recognized certification system that measures how well a building or community performs across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. Work for school boards, including new and re-roofing projects, represents a significant portion of Sutter Roofing’s annual volume. Collectively the company has completed over three million square feet of roofing for the School Boards of Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

“We’ve been in the roofing business a long time, so our crews are very familiar with working on occupied school grounds and the challenges these projects present,” said Stephen Sutter, President of Sutter Roofing. “We are happy to report that all the jobs went smoothly, and the school board should enjoy years of trouble-free maintenance and energy-savings.”Sutter Roofing Company is a nationally recognized leader in commercial roofing and sheet metal contracting. The Sutter family has been in the commercial roofing business since 1902, when the company was founded in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Their Florida operation was started in 1979, and has since grown to be one of the largest roofing contractors in the state, as well as the entire U.S.

“This steady, controlled growth has only been possible due to our tremendous employees whose commitment to excellence personifies the organization. We have over 200 employees who are dedicated to only the best quality, service, and professionalism in the industry,” Sutter also stated.

The company maintains memberships in the National Roofing Contractors Association, the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association and its local Sarasota affiliate, as well as other industry-related associations.
